Dare Remachinda The council of men

About the show

A Zimbabwean talk show and men's forum — and the room it builds for men at home and in the diaspora

Dare Remachinda — "the council of men" — is a Zimbabwean talk show and men's forum hosted by Phathisani Sibanda. The format is a panel: panellists from different disciplines — church, law and academia — take a subject and disagree about it in public, so the audience can see who is saying what.

The conversations are built around the things men carry silently: fatherhood, marriage, money, mental health, faith and the law. The show has a large following in Zimbabwe and a growing audience in the diaspora, and the platform is taken out of the studio into live events, corporate sessions and provincial gatherings.

Note on what this show is not. The panellists speak with pastoral, legal and academic authority in their own fields. None of them is presented as a clinical relationship counsellor, and nothing on this site is clinical or therapeutic advice. See the mentorship page and the terms.

Where the show goes

Dare Remachinda takes the platform beyond the studio — into workplaces, provincial gatherings and diaspora communities. As reported by the show, it has held sessions in South Africa, Hwange and Mutare, with Bulawayo, Victoria Falls, Masvingo and the United Kingdom among the places it is working towards.
